Ok, I could not resist this. I like these little insider videos, regardless the team, and don’t usually share them because they are already so saturated throughout the interweb, but I had to point this one out. Let me set it up: The video is shot on a Flip by Mr. Johan Bruyneel himself during a training ride during the Tour Down Under. He comes up the back upon two kids who are riding off the back of Team RadioShack. He says something cool like “scouting out new talent” and points out the smaller of the two kids on the left who looks good. In the following transcript, I will refer to the larger kid as ‘larger kid’ and the smaller kid as ’smaller kid’ keeping in mind that these two kids are riding right next to each other (largerkid closer to Mr. Bruyneel and smaller kid father away). So he pulls up along side and has the following exchange:
Johan: How are you?
*nod and grin from Smaller Kid*
Johan: How old are you?
Larger Kid: Ah, 15 and 16….
Johan: No, him (pointing at Smaller Kid)
Smaller Kid: (clearly stoked)
Did you see that? Johan totally shut down the Larger kid! I don’t know why that makes me laugh, but there it is. Check out the video and listen to Johan get annoyed with Larger Kid in a continued conversation. Hysterical! Link Below:
