It’s true. The man is making it happen. After what I can only imagine (and have simply heard) was a tumultuous stint with Rock Racing, Rahsaan Bahati is making it happen for himself. Well, I say for himself, but the truth is, he’s putting himself out there to help other. He has started the Bahati Foundation, has Bahati Racing going with his own team and is inspiring youth to keep it together and do something good. I’m impressed by this because I know it’s hard to get things where they need to be and feed your family, and it’s even harder to create something that takes care of your needs and balance giving back. We know that Rahsaan is encouraging and inspiring for others, as I’ve heard Justin Williams state just that, but to know what he’s doing to expand our sport into areas that are less prominent can only be good for cycling. I can truly appreciate someone who offers encouragement, support and inspiration because without those things I don’t think I would be where I am today. Good man.
As Rahsaan races across the country, he will be stopping in areas that need a little encouragement, talking to youth that need a little push. My hope is that will put him into DC talking to kids there, and my additional hope is to hook up with Rahsaan and see what’s what. I believe strongly in what he’s doing, and wish him all the luck in the world. If I can do a little to contribute, believe me when I say I will be there front and center. He’s been an excellent name in the sport of cycling, and I’m impressed to see him use that power for good.
Check out the new trailer Rahsaan has going on with his non-profit, and himself. Boy is lookin’ strong!
